Design the Future Together

As part of its contribution to the LAUNCH public-private collaborative and the LAUNCHPAD blueprint, the University of California San Diego Design Lab has developed a digital platform for robust community engagement and user-centered design around the challenges of cancer and connectivity.

The Launchpad platform allows people to share health challenges and stories and inspire creative innovators.  The platform empowers anyone and everyone to solve local problems and design their own digital futures by matching local visionaries with expertise spread across the globe.

LAUNCH SOLUTIONS THAT MATTER

With Launchpad, you can support people and ideas in your community.  You can help transform needs to solutions and challenges to successes.  Share health stories. Pitch ideas. Build solutions. Serve your community.

Featured Pitch

Do you have an idea for an innovation to address a challenge in the domain of rural cancer care?

Featured Story

The challenges faced by rural cancer patients, caregivers, and providers are complex and varied. Listen as real people eastern Kentucky describe their stories.

Lola Holliman of McKee, KY is a two-time cancer survivor. She told us about some of the most challenging aspects of managing her care. In particular, her home care nurse was not able to administer Lola’s chemotherapy at home, as she had hoped, so she ended up having to travel to Lexington for treatment. Expenses associated with her medication and necessary CT scans were also a hardship.

Support for patients from local cancer survivors so people know that they’re not alone and that they can survive cancer treatment. Would help people understand that cancer is survivable, that they’re cared for, and that there’s life after a cancer diagnosis.
